Christmas is around the corner and my toddlers and I are getting creative! Elves (Tomtar in Swedish) are very popular in Sweden so why not creating some elves with different materials and textures?
We collected some paper from the shredder, felt, corks and of course, glitter and we got ourselves to work:
Let’s remember that we are talking about kids that are between 1.5 and 2.5 years old. To use glue is already new for some of them, as they often use it as paint.
The original idea was to use the paper from the shredder as a beard, the corks to make the facial expression and the felt to make a hat. The glitter is just to give the elves a magic touch.
It is a great activity to train motor skills as well as they work on the body image: where should the eyes be? is the hat on the top of the head?
The results were great, amazing elves full of personality and character. Check them out yourselves!
